There’s a huge difference between groups!

When it comes to K-Pop artists, there isn’t any set number of songs that they’re expected to release each year. While fans of a group will always be excited for new music from their favorite artists, most of them also like to see a balance of work and rest so idols can stay healthy and happy. That being said, there is a huge difference in how many songs different third generation girl groups have released in their careers, and therefore, a much different number of average songs released per year!
Here’s a look at the average number of songs released by 15 K-Pop girl groups each year, based on their total songs released and how many years they’ve been active. Note that the number of songs for each artist does not include instrumentals, alternate language versions of original songs, remixes, or sub-unit/solo songs promoted outside of the group.
15. BLACKPINK
From BLACKPINK’s debut year of 2016 until now, they’ve released a total of 30 songs. That gives them an average of 4.3 songs released each year!
14. AOA
From AOA’s debut year of 2012 until now, they’ve released a total of 54 songs. That gives them an average of 4.9 songs released each year!
13. Weki Meki
From Weki Meki’s debut year of 2017 until now, they’ve released a total of 33 songs. That gives them an average of 5.5 songs released each year!
12. EXID
From EXID’s debut year of 2012 until now, they’ve released a total of 66 songs. That gives them an average of 6.0 songs released each year!
11. MOMOLAND
From MOMOLAND’s debut year of 2016 until they disbanded earlier in 2023, they released a total of 48 songs. That gives them an average of 6.9 songs released each year!
10. OH MY GIRL
From OH MY GIRL’s debut year of 2015 until now, they’ve released a total of 56 songs. That gives them an average of 7.0 songs released each year!
9. APRIL
From APRIL’s debut year of 2015 until they disbanded in 2022, they released a total of 50 songs. That gives them an average of 7.1 songs released each year!
8. CLC
From CLC’s debut year of 2015 until they disbanded in 2022, they released a total of 51 songs. That gives them an average of 7.3 songs released each year!
7. MAMAMOO
From MAMAMOO’s debut year of 2014 until now, they’ve released a total of 67 songs. That gives them an average of 7.4 songs released each year!
6. Cosmic Girls/WJSN
From Cosmic Girls’ debut year of 2016 until now, they’ve released a total of 74 songs. That gives them an average of 10.6 songs released each year!
5. Lovelyz
From Lovelyz’s debut year of 2014 until they disbanded in 2021, they released a total of 74 songs. That gives them an average of 10.6 songs released each year!
4. Red Velvet
From Red Velvet’s debut year of 2014 until now, they’ve released a total of 127 songs. That gives them an average of 14.1 songs released each year!

From GFRIEND’s debut year of 2015 until they disbanded in 2021, they released a total of 93 songs. That gives them an average of 15.5 songs released each year!
2. Dreamcatcher
From Dreamcatcher’s debut year of 2017 until now, they’ve released a total of 96 songs. That gives them an average of 16.0 songs released each year!
