Shailesh Lodha, known for his role as Taarak Mehta in the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He made headlines last year when he left the show on a sour note.
Reports emerged of a fallout with the producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, founder of Neela Tele Films, which runs the show. Now, a year later, Lodha has filed a case against the makers for non-payment of dues.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Lodha had waiting for his dues to be cleared for about a year, with six months of payment stalled.
He has now decided to take legal action against the makers. Reaching out to the National Company Law Tribunal and initiating an insolvency resolution under section 9. The hearing for the case scheduled for May.
Lodha refrained from commenting on the matter, as it is subjudice and under court. Asit Kumarr Modi also refused to comment on the issue.
However, Sohail Ramani, the project head for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, stated that. Lodha’s decision to quit treated respectfully, and they had reached out to him on numerous occasions to receive his remaining remuneration and sign the papers.
Ramani claimed that they had never denied his payment and questioned Lodha’s legal action, as following a simple procedure could have been easier.
The issue between Lodha and the makers of the show seems to have taken an ugly turn, and only time will tell how the case unfolds.
