Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy has finally opened up about her experience with MLB player Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the Season 7 Southern Charm reunion, the spotlight was on A-Rod sliding into Madison’s DMs while she was in a relationship with her co-star, Austen Kroll.
Madison addressed the rumors and the situation on the Pillows and Beer podcast, which is hosted by her Southern Charm co-stars Austen and Craig Conover.
Now married to Bret Randle, Madison and Austen have seemingly put their differences aside. However, there was tension during Season 8 of Southern Charm, especially when Madison announced her engagement on Amazon Live.
But during the podcast appearance, the conversation took a lighthearted turn and revealed the tea that viewers had eagerly waited for over two seasons.
Madison LeCroy disclosed that A-Rod had indeed slid into her DMs. Initially, she thought she was being catfished and didn’t realize that she was communicating with Jennifer Lopez’s then-fiancé. A-Rod initiated the conversation by inquiring about gyms in the Charleston area, but their interactions didn’t stop there.
Reportedly, A-Rod called Madison multiple times a day on FaceTime, and Austen Kroll confirmed this, as they were still together during that time. Austen recounted a particular incident where A-Rod became upset because Madison didn’t answer his call while she was on a boat. Madison responded by asserting that she wasn’t at his beck and call.
Madison also shared that she made it clear to A-Rod that she was not interested in being a “side chick” but rather desired a serious, committed relationship.
It’s worth noting that there was no physical contact between Madison and A-Rod, and she never accepted his invitations to meet in Miami.
However, A-Rod has denied Madison’s claims and released a statement through his representative to Page Six, dismissing her allegations as false and attention-seeking. The statement read, “Her 15 minutes of fame are up, and she is trying to get a 16th minute. Please stop wasting everyone’s time with these false narratives. They were false two years ago and continue to be false.”
Despite the controversy, Madison LeCroy is set to return for Season 9 of Southern Charm. This time, she will have a more significant presence.
During Season 8, Madison’s screen time was limited due to her busy schedule with wedding planning, her collaboration with BeachRiot, and her role as a mother. Bret Randle initially chose not to participate in filming, which further restricted what Madison could share with the audience. However, it appears that he has had a change of heart and will be appearing alongside his wife in Season 9.
Rumors suggest that Season 9 will be filled with drama, and with Kathryn Dennis not filming, the focus will shift to Taylor Ann Green and Olivia Flowers.
